What is
Scrapbooking?
Scrapbooking has
been done for many years in different forms. Once ladies would
collect catalogue clippings of clothing and house hold items,
and glue then into books. As years went by families would have
scrapbooks filled with newspaper or magazine clippings about a
member of their family. Today
Scrapbooking is a way of diplaying your photos in a decorative
way.
Where do I
start?
You can start by sorting out your photos,
either grouping them into events e.g.Holiday,Christmas
or in chronolodgical order. Always start from your most recent
photos as these are the ones you reemember most about.
Do I have to buy an
album?
Yes, you do need to purchase an album but
if your unsure, I am able to help you.
What sort of album
should I use?
The albums you need to choose should
be Acid Free.
Where do I get these
things from?
There are many Scrapbooking shops on
the internet or maybe even in your own area. If you are not
sure, I have a list of businesses that you can choose from.
I know nothing about
products but I like scrapbooking.Can you help
me?

Can I use Creative
Memories Albums?
Yes, you can use Creative
Memories albums. As I once was a consultant with them, I have
a knowledge of their products.
Do I have to buy the
products through you?
No, I don't have products to
sell. But I'm here if you have any questions on what or where
to buy.
What's
journalling?
Journalling
is the story that is behind the photo. It can be very basic,
using the elements of, when, where or why? Or it can be a
story about the event. In the case of children, you can
describe the funny or memorable things they say and do.If you
feel you are unable to write something yourself, then I can
give you a helping hand. Instead of story you can use poems
and quotes that work in with the photos.
I'm not good at
writing. what do you suggest?
Give me an out line
of what you want and I can write it for you, or I can help you
write it. Poems are a good way of adding to Journalling.
What styles do you
use in your scrapbooks?
There are many
Scrapbooking styles. My style ranges from clean line to a
basic Shabby. I'm also willing to try new styles.
I like the look of
those pages that use lots of accessories and embelisments.
What do you think?
I like the look of them as
well, but I'm also very aware that too many embelisments can
make the page too busy, and its the photo's we want to see.
Also these embellishments add substantial thickness to the
page and depending on the items used can cause damage to your
album,especially once more pages are added and the album gets
thicker.
I've got some
favorite photos that need cropping or editing.
Can you do
these as well?
Yes, I can crop and edit your
photos. If its a heritage photo then it may not be advisable
to crop.
I've found some really old
family photos, but they're in pretty bad
shape.
What should I do?
Take
them to a reputable photo restorer.
I would like to get
start now, but can't afford to do a whole
album?
That doesn't matter. My prices are worked
out by per page and most layouts are double page. Start with
you want to do now and we can add on later and
as events happen.
I would like to
create a special gift for a family member. Any
ideas?
There are many albums which you can give,
especially if it's commemorating an event; e.g. 21st or 18th
Birthday, Engagment or Wedding Albums. If it's for a
christening then there's an "ABC album". Some samples are in
the gallery. For Grandparents there is always a "Brag Book"
for their coffee table.
The ideas are endless.......
I'm getting married
and would like to create something really special to
remember forever. Can you help?
Yes, keep all
the memorabilla from your wedding and I can help you put it
together with your photos.
I've got friends and
relatives overseas. Posting them an album sounds expensive. Do
you have any ideas?
How about putting your photos
onto a CD with music, they are smaller and
easier to post.
Do I need to pay up
front?
No, but a starting deposit will be
required. This is usually about 50% of the estimated cost.
I don't live in your
local area, but I would still like to get an album done.
How do I do this?
I will have forms
avalable for you to download which you can fill in. They can
then be posted to me and if there are any questions we can
e-mail or phone each other.
I have memorabila
that I have collected, can these be added?
Yes,
memorabilia is great to add with your photos. It adds extra
information to the journalling and can be used as an
embellishment to your page.
